Our new go-to. A couple miles drive but worth it. The Filipino Iced Coffee just hits the right spots. Can't wait to try other drinks though! Today we got the ube cruller and vegan pretzel croissant -- both delish! They have a cute place -- good enough for small groups, perfect for morning coffee dates, pet-friendly, and cozy. Street parking only. But a spot shouldn't be hard to find. It was love at first sip -- in short

Located on the Eastside of Hollywood, better known as Thai town for some of us, is this gem of a coffee shop. It's a stomping ground for the diverse community that surrounds it and you feel in place once you walk in. I ordered two of their best sellers which were the Filipino iced coffee and Thai Town latte. The Filipino coffee came flavored with Ube and housemade oat condensed, now I don't know exactly what that means but it was good and worked well. Now the Thai Town latte came with vanilla bean and cardamom with a nice hint of Tamarind. Ok, so as I kept sipping my tastebuds were like this is next level but there was a mysterious flavor I just could not figure out. Well, as I was almost about to finish, I saw a piece of Star Anise! Now that's what made this drink Hella tasty and it also set the bar for me! Both drinks were spot on and the baristas were so chill and friendly. The atmosphere here is so zen like and plenty of space to chill. And that's my take on it, Peace

It's Filipino American History Month (FAHM) and Obet and Del's is a Filipino and Black owned business that deserves to be spotlighted! This coffee shop in East Hollywood, just right next to Thai Town, is a great example of a third space that fosters inclusivity and community. To get here, street parking will be your best and there is a good amount of it around the shop. Inside, they have a colorful retro 70's inspired aesthetic with a good amount of seating. They have a unique menu of Filipino-inspired teas, coffees, matcha, affogatos, and pastries! Wifey and I opted to try the Thai Town Latte and Iron Goddess Hot Tea to start off our day. Both drinks had comforting yet innovative flavor profiles and we enjoyed sipping them while enjoying the communal ambiance of the shop. Overall, this coffee shop is definitely a gem in the local community. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Come support, show love, and try their Filipino-inspired drinks!

I have visited Obet a handful of times now and love the Filipino Iced coffee. FYI the Filipino coffee is really a latte, not a cold brew or iced coffee. I recommend making it a quad shot (it's about $1.50 to add 2 shots of espresso) and it will be amazing - assuming you enjoy more of a coffee taste. The inside is roomy and gives a feel at home vibe. The team is always kind and helpful. Parking is all street parking. Depending on the time, it could get tough so the earlier the better!

Not a lot of tables for working but they have plenty of outlets! It's super packed even on a regular weekday.

Spacious space and great latte! I parked on the street right in front of the store around 11am, but I can see that parking might become difficult at peak hours/weekends. I got the Thai town latte which tasted like a thai tea boba but more nutty (?). I think the difference in flavor comes from the vanilla, which adds a depth of dimension to your regular thai tea. I want to say it's in the lineage of thai tea, but you'd only find this kind of flavor here. I didn't realize that it didn't contain espresso, which was an assumption I made from the name "latte", so just be aware if you're wanting to get coffee/need stronger caffeine than tea. The coffee shop is perfect for either studying or socializing, and I appreciate that there is a lot of open space so that you're not involuntarily eavesdropping on the table over. I'll definitely come back to try the Filipino iced coffee too!

We had to give this cafe a try because we love Filipino food/drinks! The cafe is vibrant & spacious. It was filled with customers when we came in on a Friday afternoon but we got our drinks in under 5 minutes :) Thai Town Latte - fell short on flavor, thai tea could be stronger. Tasted more of the oat milk than I would've liked. Filipino Iced Coffee - LOVE ube! Glad this didn't disappoint. Great balance of espresso & sweetness.

Thai Town was surely not my area of expertise as I was rarely there, but certainly didn't wanna miss the opportunity when I was around. I wasn't aware of Obet and Del's before being around the area and intentionally looking for a coffee shop to get my daily dose. Fell in love with the vibe at the first visit and I was glad to find another spot that carried Asian-infused flavors for their coffee. I opted for their #1 favorite based on Yelp, the Filipino Iced Coffee, which you might have guessed correctly, came with ube. It was supposedly served with oat milk as the default version, but I requested mine to be substituted with almond milk as oat wasn't my cup of tea. Thanks to the accommodating barista, I really enjoyed my iced coffee, having good balance of coffee boldness and sweetness from the condensed milk. It's bit grainy due to the ube, but not to the level that's bothering. Great pick-me-up amidst this summer!

I didn't order any food, but I definitely ordered the Filipino Iced Coffee!! Not only is it nice to look at, but it tastes REALLY good! Fair warning though... it's over $6 which is more that what I would normally pay, but I happened to be in the neighborhood, and I REALLY wanted to try this drink. VERY good if you like ube. I would buy it again if I come back to this coffee shop. The service was good. I liked how there were MANY places to sit so that you can do some work. I wouldn't say it's a cute place, but I felt like it was a good working environment. Street parking is metered.

Obet and Del's (est 2020) is a colorful mom-and-pop coffee shop that blends tradition and innovation. It's located in Hollywood's Thai Town. O&D is Filipino culture-inspired coffee crafted by owners Heather Knox and Josh Oliveros. The shop's 90's retro interior design and layout were well conceived and very spacious, respectively. They have breadth of coffee drinks and modest pastry selection. Free wifi available (2 drink minimum prerequisite). Plenty of street parking. We came here to grab a nice Cold Brew; perfect on a sunny warm LA. It was okay. Service was on point. Staff were cordial. Overall, I had a good order experience. I'd definitely come back for other drink and pastry.
